Okay! so where do I begin… I guess I’ll start with a huge thanks to my photog friends for sharing in this experience with me and also sharing the hotel bill. LOL I had so much fun and I learned so much, it was a little information overload, I’m still trying to process all great ideas. There were a few big highlights for me in this trip.
First I going to get to see Jasmine Star, if you haven’t heard of her (and your a photographer) seriously! you need to check her out. She’s an awesome photographer, but more than that, she’s inspirational and just a plain ol’ good person. It’s kinda amazing that sooo many people adore her, she has a fabulous blog and web presence. I check her blog almost everyday. Anywho, we were all planning on attending her platform Monday night, but because we went to an earlier speaker we were stuck at the back of the line. Kateri and I some how made it into the room, but Loni and Jenni didn’t. It was like we were separated in a large unfamiliar city and didn’t know what to do. Loni and Jenni got into another class, so it turned out ok.![]()
Jasmine’s platform was about being you, I believe she titled it “Ghetto Fabulous Marketing.” She talked about being yourself and how that’s really the only way to be original. I found myself inspire. I wasn’t thinking about photography, but just my life in general. It’s okay to be yourself. Even if your “real” laugh is quite loud, or if your house is messy 85% of the time. That’s just me and I’m down with that, soooo I guess everyone else can be too!
After she concluded speaking, I told Kateri I wanted to run up there and get a picture with her. Kateri agreed, so we jetted up there with another 50+ fans. I waited patiently to say hello and congratulate her on a top notch performance. But as I waited to greet her, I found myself getting nervous, almost like I was about to meet the President or something. By the time it was my turn, I was blue in the face and I wanted to cry. I have no idea why. Crazy, I know. Luckily I kept it together. (no tears) I can’t even remember what I said to her, it’s all a big blur. BUT, there’s a picture.
whatever, it is what it is.
She looked great tho, I mean come on- check out those arms!

The other really cool thing we did, was on Thursday after the last morning class, us girls decided to do a photo shoot of each other. We spent some time getting ready and went poolside to capture.
Here’s the lovely Jenni
and the wonderful Loni
and me (a little less blue in the face)

I have to say after looking thru all the images when I got home- it was quite interesting. I’m sooo sorry to Loni and Jenni for having to photograph me, I was RIDICULOUS. Thank you so much for getting some good ones of me, because seriously check out these out-takes. It’s okay to laugh. I did

Overall, WPPI was a great experience. Again- huge thanks to Loni, Kateri, and Jenni for being the awesome women you are:)

Here’s a slideshow of our week. Enjoy
